If you find something of yours here that is not credited as it should be, please write to us and we will put it right.

Places

  • The descriptions and positions of the first places are from Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0), each credited with a link in the description; positions missing there are from Wikidata (CC0). Text taken from Wikipedia stays under that licence.
  • Photos of those places are from Wikimedia Commons. The author and licence of each photo are shown in its caption.
  • Everything else about a place (prices, permits, network coverage, tips) is contributed by travellers.

Countries and airports

  • Country codes, English names and currencies: GeoNames (CC BY 4.0), geonames.org.
  • Regions and sub-regions: the United Nations’ M49 standard, from the listing ISO-3166-Countries-with-Regional-Codes (CC BY-SA 4.0).
  • Bengali names of countries: Wikidata (CC0) and Unicode CLDR (Unicode License).
  • Airports: OurAirports (public domain), ourairports.com.

The trip assistant

  • Flight and hotel prices are looked up through SerpApi (Google Flights and Google Hotels) and shown with the day they were looked up. The airline is named as where a price is from.
  • Exchange rates: exchangerate-api.com.
  • Some costs and tips are from the open travel guide Wikivoyage (CC BY-SA 4.0), written in our own words and marked as such beside each figure.
  • Other costs, tips and routes are from travellers’ experience collected by our team, with the day they were last updated.
  • Questions that our word lists cannot read, and the wording of some answers, are handled by the Claude model of Anthropic. It supplies no price and no fact.

Food Passport

  • Cards are set in Hind Siliguri (SIL Open Font License 1.1).
